Combat Vets Helping Combat Vets - Franz Maish

Franz Maish

Founder

Franz Maish founded Combat Veterans Helping Combat Veterans, a non-profit organization, to fill a void that existed for combat vets returning home after their tours.

A four combat-tour vet himself (two in Iraq, two in Afghanistan), Franz represents Veterans in filing Veterans Administration Disability claims for service connection and Federal Social Security Disability claims. Prior to founding CVHCV, he served four years in the United States Army as an Infantryman, Airborne Weapons Expert/Ranger (MOS 11B2P). He operated three years with 1/75th Ranger Battalion and one with the 82nd Airborne Division.

After returning from his fourth tour, Franz became a United States Border Patrol Agent (GS-9) and completed the US Border Patrol Academy at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Artesia, New Mexico. He served as a Federal Agent with the US Border Patrol in the El Centro Sector in California.

Prior to his enlistment, Franz studied for his law degree at CUNY and received his Juris Doctor in 2001. While in law school he served as an intern with the Legal Aid Society and represented juveniles in the Criminal Part of Family Court.
